Description
Haplogroup H10 is a rare subclade of H found predominantly in Anatolia, the Caucasus, and parts of the Middle East. It has also been detected at low frequencies in Southern Europe, likely carried there by Neolithic farmers expanding from Anatolia. H10 is an ancient lineage that branched off early within haplogroup H, and its distribution in the Near East suggests a refugium origin during or shortly after the Last Glacial Maximum.
Interesting Fact
H10 has been found in ancient samples from the Neolithic site of Boncuklu Höyük in Anatolia (~8500 BCE), one of the earliest known settled communities in the region, suggesting it was among the founding lineages of the Neolithic revolution.
