Description
C2b1a2a1b (F6379) is a terminal subclade of C2b1a2a within the broader C2b1a2 (M48) Mongolic branch. Defined by the F6379 marker, this lineage represents a fine-scale Iron Age differentiation of the non-Star-Cluster Mongolic C2b diversity on the Mongolian Plateau. Its carriers today are found at low frequencies among Mongolian and Inner Mongolian populations.
Interesting Fact
F6379 is one of many 'shadow lineages' on the Mongolian Plateau — branches that were demographically outcompeted by the explosive expansion of the Star Cluster during the Mongol Empire, surviving today only as rare but distinct patrilineal markers of Mongolia's pre-imperial genetic diversity.
